Watch the Launch of the 529 Consortium at the NAST Treasury Management Training Symposium

On June 18, 2026, during the closing session of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) Treasury Management Training Symposium in Oklahoma City, founding partners announced the launch of the National Consortium on Education Savings Research (529 Consortium), a multi-institution research partnership focused on increasing understanding of and participation in 529 education savings plans.

Speakers include Catherine Seat (The 529 Network and NAST), Fernando Diaz and John Mitchell (Illinois State Treasurer’s Office), Chad Syverson, Michelle Skinner, and Terry Mazany (UChicago Becker Friedman Institute for Economics), Annamaria Lusardi (Stanford Initiative for Financial Decision-Making), Guglielmo Briscese (Vanguard), and Sabrina Liu (UChicago Inclusive Economy Lab).
